How to use it

1. Application
Wrap the band around the affected limb (e.g., calf, hamstring, arm) with approximately 50-70% tension, ensuring it remains comfortable. Warning: Do not apply to the head, neck, chest, or abdomen.

2. Activation with movement
After application, perform 2-3 minutes of light exercise (e.g., squats, lunges, arm raises) to loosen tissues and increase circulation through compression and movement.

3. Band removal
After exercising, remove the band and allow circulation to rapidly increase (the "sponge effect"), thereby promoting muscle and connective tissue regeneration.

4. After use
After use, rest for approximately 5–10 minutes, and if necessary, repeat 2–3 times a week on the problematic area.
(Note: If you have serious joint or muscle problems, consult a specialist.)

FAQ

Basic information

How does a flossing band help?

  • Pain relief
  • Increased range of motion
  • Reduced inflammation
  • Improved coordination
  • Reduced edema
  • Stimulation of better sliding movement of muscles, nerves, ligaments, and tissues
  • Increased blood circulation
  • Improved oxygen and nutrient supply to tissues
  • Injury prevention
  • Accelerated tissue healing during rehabilitation

What is flossing treatment?

Flossing treatment is a modern technique, known for a few years, that became popular mainly through CrossFit training. Its essence is to create compression and mobilization by temporarily wrapping a special rubber band (floss) around a joint or muscle. This helps restore and increase range of motion and reduce pain, whether for pre-workout warm-up, recovery, or rehabilitation.

What does a flossing band look like?

A flossing band should be imagined as a very flexible bandage. It is made of latex and is available in various colors and sizes.

  • Narrow band, for example, for the thumb
  • Thicker band, for example, for the ankle

For what problems is it worth using the Flossing rubber band?

The Movtech Flossing rubber band can help in many cases to reduce pain, improve range of motion, and accelerate recovery. It can be especially useful for:

  • Joint swelling, edema, and inflammation
  • Muscle pain in the limbs
  • Improving the range of motion of a frozen shoulder
  • Supporting sprains, strains, and partial ligament tears
  • Treating tunnel syndromes (e.g., carpal tunnel)
  • Alleviating tennis elbow and golf elbow complaints
  • Releasing muscle adhesions
  • Rehabilitation after orthopedic surgeries

What material is the Flossing band made of?

The Flossing band is made of flexible latex material, which ensures adequate compression and durability.

Not to be used in case of latex allergy.

What colors and sizes are available for the Movtech Flossing rubber band?

The Movtech™ Flossing rubber band is available in several colors and strengths, so you can easily choose the one that best suits your needs:

Red – medium resistance

Blue – weak resistance

Black – strong resistance

Use and operation

How does flossing therapy work?

The treatment aids healing and regeneration through several mechanisms:

  1. Pain relief

The band stimulates sensory cells (mechanoreceptors) under the skin, thus reducing the transmission of pain to the spine. Improvement can be felt after the very first sessions.
  2. Sponge effect / increased circulation

High-pressure compression pushes inflammatory substances into the lymphatic system. After the band is removed, the sudden blood flow flushes the area, improving oxygen, hormone, and nutrient supply.
  3. Blockage release / mobilization

Movement performed during flossing helps to shift the fascia, subcutaneous connective tissue, muscles, and joints, releasing adhesions and increasing range of motion.

What should the Flossing band be combined with?

The Flossing rubber band is effective on its own, but for the most effective results, it is worth combining it with other therapeutic methods:

  • With manual techniques – such as massage or soft tissue treatment
  • With active exercises – targeted movement exercises to increase range of motion
  • With rehabilitation tools – such as rollers, balls, or other mobilizing devices
  • With regenerative treatments – e.g., cold/hot therapy, stretching

On which body parts can the Flossing band be used?

The Flossing rubber band is extremely versatile and can be applied to almost all major joints and muscles:

  • arms and forearms
  • legs and calves
  • shoulder and scapula area
  • knees and ankles
  • elbows

How long should the flossing band be left on?

Usually 1–2 minutes is sufficient.

It should not be wrapped too tightly, and if numbness or severe discomfort occurs, it should be removed immediately.

Can the Flossing band be used before and after training?

Yes! The Flossing rubber band can be effectively used both before and after training:

  • Before training:

Applying the band and light movement activates the muscles and joints, increases blood circulation, and prepares the body for exertion. This reduces the risk of injury and improves range of motion.
  • After training:

Compression and movement help remove lactic acid and waste products from the muscles, reduce fatigue, and speed up regeneration. It also supports the restoration of muscle and joint flexibility.

What results can I expect from regular Flossing use?

Regular use brings numerous positive effects:

  • Increased mobility: joints move more easily, range of motion improves
  • Reduced muscle tension: the band helps release tense muscles and connective tissue
  • Faster regeneration: muscles and joints regain their flexibility more quickly, especially after training

Many users feel a change after just a few sessions: they move more easily, their muscles are more relaxed, and fatigue or muscle tension decreases.

For lasting and significant results, it is advisable to use Flossing regularly, in conjunction with complementary exercises and regenerative techniques.

Can it be used over clothing?

Yes, the band is primarily intended for direct skin application, but if necessary, it can also be applied over thin clothing if it is more comfortable or if the user has sensitive skin.

Contraindications and safety instructions

When is the use of the Flossing band not recommended?

The Flossing rubber band is generally safe, but its use is not recommended in certain health conditions:

  • In the presence of varicose veins, thrombosis, or other circulatory problems
  • During pregnancy, especially around the legs and abdomen – only with medical permission
  • In case of dermatitis, eczema, or open wounds in the affected area
  • In case of nerve-related pain, numbness, or loss of sensation
  • In case of severe diabetes, only after medical consultation

If any of the above conditions apply, do not use the band, and always seek professional advice to safely apply the flossing treatment.

Can its use cause pain or discomfort?

When used as intended, the band does not cause pain, however, the following may occur:

  • mild pressure sensation or numbness
  • redness at the application site

If these discomforts persist, loosen the band or discontinue use.

What should I do if I experience problems during use?

If you experience any discomfort, pain, or numbness beyond your pain threshold while using the Flossing band, then:

  1. Immediately unroll the band.
  2. Check the application: make sure the band was not too tight and that you applied it correctly.
  3. Monitor your symptoms: if the discomfort does not subside within a short time, consult a specialist (doctor or physiotherapist) to safely continue the treatment.

It is always important to proceed gradually and pay attention to your body's signals, ensuring that the flossing treatment remains safe and effective.

What constitutes incorrect use?

The Flossing band is safe and effective when used according to the instructions. However, the following cases are considered incorrect use and may cause discomfort or injury:

  • Continuous application exceeding the recommended 1-2 minutes – always use the band for a short, targeted period.
  • Wrapping too tightly, which restricts blood circulation – the band should be firm, but not excessively impede blood flow.
  • Application on damaged or inflamed skin – the use of the band is contraindicated in such cases.

Is there any tool or method with which it is not recommended to combine?

The Flossing band can be safely combined with other restorative or mobilizing tools, however, in cases of severe circulatory problems or injuries, do not use it simultaneously with compression devices, and always consult a specialist.

What safety conditions may apply to the product?

  1. Read the instructions provided with the product before use.
  2. Do not wrap the band too tightly — excessive compression can cause nerve pain, numbness, or circulatory disorders.
  3. Not recommended for all body parts: avoid applying the band to the head, neck, chest, and abdomen areas, unless advised by a specialist.
  4. Do not use over open wounds, fresh injuries, or inflamed skin, as this may cause irritation or infection.
  5. Avoid flossing in cases of severe varicose veins or thrombosis, and in severe circulatory disorders — consult a doctor first.
  6. During pregnancy, especially around the legs or abdomen, use only with medical approval.
  7. Do not leave the band on the skin for longer than the recommended duration, as this may cause redness, irritation, or tissue damage.
  8. Do not use on areas that are numb, insensitive, or experiencing nerve-related pain without consulting a healthcare professional.
  9. For children, use only under adult supervision and ensure it is not left on for a long time.
  10. Follow the recommended movements during exercise, as incorrect technique can result in poor circulation or injury.
  11. If severe pain or intense discomfort occurs, immediately remove the band.
  12. The band does not replace professional medical or physiotherapy treatment — for more serious problems, seek expert advice.
  13. Do not apply directly over bone fractures or severe muscle injuries.
  14. Avoid excessively long intermittent compression (more than a few minutes) unless specifically recommended by a specialist.
  15. Do not allow the band to be fuzzy, worn, or damaged, as it will not provide even pressure.
  16. Keep the surface clean and dry beforehand to avoid skin irritation or infection.
  17. Do not leave the band in a damp environment for an extended period — latex ages faster and loses its elasticity.
  18. If you have diabetes or circulatory problems, consult a doctor before use.
  19. Always remove the band slowly and carefully to minimize sudden changes in blood circulation.
  20. No single treatment replaces professional rehabilitation — if your condition does not improve or worsens, consult a specialist.
