What is this product, and how does it work?

The Spike acupressure mat set consists of a mat covered with pressure points and an accompanying pillow. The mat features over 6,000 tiny pressure points. When you lie on it, your body weight is distributed across many small points. This creates a sharp, tingling sensation that softens into a feeling of warmth within a few minutes. It is a wellness device, not a medical device, and does not replace medical treatment.

What is it like the first time?

The first few minutes are intense; many describe it as prickly. This typically subsides after a few minutes and is replaced by a feeling of warmth. For the first few times, wear a thin t-shirt; this will dull the sensation. Once you get used to it, try it on bare skin as well. After use, red dots remain on the skin, but these usually fade within a short time.

How long should I lie on it?

As a beginner, 10–15 minutes a day is sufficient. As you get used to it, you can gradually increase it to 20–30 minutes. Regular, short sessions are more beneficial than rare, long ones. If you get sleepy, that is natural, but do not fall asleep.

On what surface and in what position should I use it?

It is most effective on a flat, firm surface, such as a carpet or yoga mat. On a soft bed, the pressure points will sink in, and the effect will be lost. Lie down on it slowly with your back; do not drop onto it suddenly. You can place a pillow under your neck. It can also be used while lying on your stomach or sitting, for example by placing it against your lower back on a chair.

When is the best time to use it?

In the evening, before bed, most people use it to wind down the day. It is also good for relaxing after a workout, and can be incorporated as a short break during the day. Do not lie on it immediately after eating.

What is the size of the mattress?

mattress dimensions: 66 × 41 cm more than 6000 pressure points the set includes a pillow Due to its size, it fits easily in a closet and can also be taken on trips.

When is its use NOT recommended?

Do not use and consult your doctor beforehand if any of the following apply: open wound, skin injury, inflamed or infected skin surface skin condition, such as eczema or psoriasis on the area to be treated hemophilia, blood clotting disorder, or use of anticoagulants acute injury, recent surgery severe circulatory disease, thrombosis diabetes with complications, reduced sensation pregnancy feverish condition Children should only use it under adult supervision.

How should I clean and store it?

The cover is generally removable and hand-washable in lukewarm water. Do not soak the mats containing pressure points; wipe them only with a slightly damp cloth. Dry at room temperature, away from radiators and direct sunlight. Store in a dry place, rolled up or flat. The pressure points are made of plastic, so do not keep them near a heat source.
