FAQ

What are compression boots, and how do they work?

Compression boots are inflatable leg sleeves containing a series of air chambers. The device inflates and deflates these in a specific sequence, applying a wave-like, bottom-up pressure to your legs.

The available-for-rent Compression Boots operate with six independently controllable air chambers and six programs, with pressure adjustable between 30 and 260 mmHg.

This is a wellness recovery device, not a medical device: it does not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition, and it is not a substitute for professional medical care.

Who do we recommend it for, and from what age can it be used?

For post-workout recovery for athletes, for those who spend a lot of time standing or sitting, and for anyone who wants to address a feeling of heaviness or fatigue in their legs.

By age:

  • Not to be used under 12 years of age
  • Between 13 and 18 years of age only with medical recommendation and supervision
  • Generally suitable for use over 18 years of age, provided there are no medical contraindications
  • Can also be used at an older age, but always taking into account the individual's state of health
How should I insert it, and in what position should I use it?

Sit down, pull the boots onto your legs, and zip them up from bottom to top. They are easy to put on and take off by yourself.

Lie down or sit comfortably with your legs in a slightly elevated position, so they are not below the level of your pelvis. This way, the device does not have to work against gravity.

It is most comfortable to wear thin, smooth trousers or long socks. The boots can also be in direct contact with your skin, as the inner material is skin-friendly.

How long should a treatment last, and when is the best time for it?

A treatment typically lasts 20–60 minutes, depending on the chosen program. Even 15–20 minutes at medium intensity is noticeable.

  • after training, wait until your heart rate returns to the resting range, which usually takes 10–30 minutes
  • before training, a shorter, lighter program is suitable for warming up
  • it is also pleasant as evening relaxation after work

The timer can be set between 10 and 90 minutes. Do not use it while sleeping, but feel free to use it during daytime rest.

What do the number of chambers and the pressure value mean?

The six air chambers inflate one after another, moving from the foot towards the thigh. The more chambers there are, the more precisely the wave follows the curve of the leg.

The pressure is adjustable between 30 and 260 mmHg. Start in the lower range and only increase it if it feels comfortable. High pressure does not mean better results; the goal is a pleasant, uniform sensation.

You can choose from six programs, which differ in the sequence and rhythm of the chambers.

Is it noisy? Can it be used at home in the evening as well?

The device operates at under 40 decibels, which is quieter than an average conversation. It can be used undisturbed at home, in the evening, even in the living room.

The control unit weighs 1.5 kg, measures 230 × 150 × 80 mm, and can also run on a built-in battery for up to 4.5 hours. This means you don't have to stay near an outlet, and it can be taken along for travel.

When is its use NOT recommended?

Consult your physician before use if any of the following apply to you:

  • thrombosis, phlebitis, or other circulatory diseases
  • blood clotting disorders or the use of anticoagulants
  • recent surgery, bone fracture, or injury in the lower limbs
  • open wounds, or inflamed or infected skin areas on the legs
  • severe heart, kidney, or liver disease
  • uncontrolled high blood pressure
  • reduced sensation in the legs
  • pacemaker or implanted device
  • pregnancy
  • malignant disease

Do not use if you experience any unexplained pain, swelling, or skin lesions on your legs.

Can it be used on the arm as well? Can it be used by more than one person?

Not for arms: the boot is designed exclusively for the legs. A separate device is needed for the upper limbs.

Multiple people can use it, but it is recommended that everyone wears thin clothing or long socks underneath, and the interior surface should be wiped down after use.

The size of the boot is adjustable, so it can be adapted to different body types.

What does the device do?
  • 6 independently adjustable air chambers, 6 programs
  • pressure: 30–260 mmHg
  • timer: 10–90 minutes
  • battery: 5200 mAh, up to 4.5 hours of operation
  • noise level: below 40 dB

How should I clean and store it?

After use, wipe the inside of the boots with a slightly damp cloth or a disinfectant wipe, then leave them open to dry. Do not immerse the boots in water and do not put them in the washing machine.

Wipe the control unit with a dry cloth; always turn it off and unplug it from the power source before cleaning.

Store in a cool, dry place, ensuring the air hoses are not kinked. If you notice any unusual sound, smell, or overheating during use, turn it off immediately and contact our customer service.

Basic information

How do compression boots support lymphatic circulation?

Compression boots work by applying targeted, alternating air pressure to the legs, which supports the natural function of the lymphatic system. The sequential inflation and deflation of the chambers promote the removal of excess fluids and metabolic byproducts from the muscles. This mechanism operates on a similar principle to manual lymphatic massage, thereby contributing to the reduction of swelling and the sensation of heavy legs, as well as fostering a fresher, lighter feeling of well-being.

Are compression boots considered medical devices?

Compression boots are not classified as medical devices. For health-related or medical questions, it is always recommended to consult with a general practitioner or a specialist who can provide advice based on your individual health condition.

How do compression boots work, and how noticeable are their effects?

The boots create a wave-like, lymphatic massage effect on the legs. The alternating pressure stimulates blood and lymphatic circulation, which can help remove metabolic byproducts that accumulate in the muscles and can cause fatigue after physical exertion.

Many people experience noticeable improvement even after a single intense workout, a fact supported by several studies. However, it is important to note that the regenerative effect can vary individually and depends on the intensity of the exercise, physical condition, and the settings used.

What are compression boots?

Compression boots are multi-chamber textile devices that cover the foot, lower leg, and thigh. The air chambers inside them fill with air in a specific sequence, progressing from bottom to top, thereby exerting controlled pressure on the limb.

This technology is known as intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC). This principle has long been used in healthcare to support circulation and reduce swelling, while recovery boots make this mechanism available for sports and wellness purposes.

What benefits can recovery boots offer?

Regular use of compression boots can contribute to supporting post-exercise recovery. They can help reduce fluid retention, muscle tension, and the uncomfortable feeling of fatigue, while promoting faster delivery of nutrients necessary for recovery to the fatigued muscle tissues.

It is important to emphasize that the body's natural regenerative processes also function without external devices. Compression boots can support these processes, similar to other recovery methods such as stretching, yoga, or foam rolling.

They can be particularly beneficial for competitive athletes and those under high physical strain who have limited time for recovery between training sessions or competitions, where every little bit of support can count.

Can anyone use compression boots, or are they only recommended for athletes?

Compression boots are not exclusively designed for athletes. While particularly useful after training or competition, anyone can benefit from their use who wishes to reduce leg fatigue, improve circulation, or alleviate the sensation of heavy legs, as well as people suffering from edema, lymphatic problems, or lymphedema. They are also highly recommended for those who sit or stand for long periods, older age groups, and as a supplement to post-operative recovery. The device's relaxing and regenerative effect is independent of activity level.

What materials are compression boots made of?

Compression boots are made using high-quality, breathable, and durable materials. The inner surface is soft to the touch, providing a comfortable sensation during use, while the outer layer withstands regular wear and tear. The materials have sweat-wicking properties, making the boots comfortable for use at home, in the gym, or in a rehabilitation setting.

How portable are the compression massage boots?

Portability was an important consideration in the design of the boots. They are lightweight, easy to roll up, and can be stored in a carrying bag, making them ideal for travel. Despite their compact size, they provide effective operation, so they can be used anywhere recovery or refreshment is needed.

Is the device skin-friendly and allergen-free?

Yes. The inner material of the boots is skin-friendly and non-porous, which helps reduce bacterial growth and the development of unpleasant odors. It provides a comfortable solution even for users with sensitive skin. If multiple people use it, it is recommended to wear socks and sweatpants during use for hygienic reasons.

Do the boots contain harmful substances?

No. Only safe, tested materials are used during manufacturing, so the boots do not contain any ingredients harmful to health.

Are the boots easy to put on and take off alone?

Yes. The design of the compression massage boots allows most users to easily put them on and take them off without assistance. If someone has limited mobility, for example, due to stiff joints or back problems, more attention may be needed, but fundamentally, starting and ending use can be done independently.

How practical are compression massage boots for home use?

Compression massage boots are particularly well-suited for home use. Their operation is simple, application is quick, and no special knowledge or preparation is required. The device can usually be started with a single button press, making it easy to integrate into a daily routine.

You can comfortably relax during use: you can sit on the sofa, read, or even watch TV, there is no need for a separate room or gym environment. A single treatment can be effective in as little as 10–30 minutes, making it a flexible solution for time management – whether after a workout or at the end of a long workday.

The boots have a compact design, so storage is not a problem: they easily fit in a wardrobe or next to the bed or sofa, without taking up much space.

Who can use compression boots?

Use is tied to age and individual health status:

  • Use is absolutely NOT recommended for children under 12 years of age.
  • Between 13 and 18 years of age, use is only recommended under medical supervision and with a medical recommendation.
  • Generally safe for use over 18 years of age, provided there are no medical contraindications.
  • For those over 60 years of age, it can be particularly beneficial for supporting circulation in the lower extremities, but individual health status must always be considered.

Can the boot be used on arms as well?

No. Compression boots are designed exclusively for leg treatment. For arms and upper limbs, a specially designed device, such as Compression Wings, is recommended.

Is the device suitable as a supplement to a diet?

The boots alone do not replace diet or exercise, but they can support metabolic processes and lymphatic circulation. As an accessory, they can contribute to reducing fluid retention and improving general well-being, which can aid weight loss goals.

Can it help reduce cellulite?

Alternating compression enhances blood and lymphatic circulation, which can improve skin condition. With regular use, this can contribute to reducing the appearance of cellulite, especially when combined with lifestyle changes.

Is there a warranty on the product?

Yes. The product comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee without justification, instead of the statutory 14 days. In addition, we provide a 2-year full warranty to ensure that your purchase is truly risk-free.

What does the number of chambers mean, and why is it important?

The number of chambers in the device determines how precisely and evenly the pressure is distributed on the leg. With more chambers, the compression moves upwards more subtly and gradually, resulting in a more effective treatment and a more noticeable regenerative effect.

Is the device noisy during operation?

During the use of compression massage boots, a soft operating noise can be heard, caused by the air compressor. The sound occurs when the chambers inflate and deflate, and is most similar to the sound of a small air pump. For most users, this is not disturbing, so the boots can be comfortably used while relaxing, reading, or even watching television. However, the device is not completely silent. If someone is particularly sensitive to noise, choosing a lower intensity level or using headphones can be a comfortable solution. If you hear a strange hissing sound, it is advisable to check the sealing rubbers at the device connection and replace them with the spare parts found in the package if necessary.

Use and operation

How to put on compression boots?

For comfortable use of the device, it is recommended to wear shorts or thin, close-fitting trousers. Lie or sit in a comfortable position, making sure your legs are straight and your feet are roughly at the same height as your waist.

Fully open the boots and carefully slide both feet in, ensuring your feet are aligned with the center of the boots and, if possible, reach close to the bottom of the boots. This helps to distribute pressure evenly during treatment.

Make sure your legs remain straight and smooth throughout, avoiding creasing or bunching of the material. When moving the boots, only hold the textile parts and avoid lifting the control unit or control panel. After adjusting to the correct position, zip up both boots.

When and how should compression boots be used?

The use of compression boots is recommended in a lying or comfortable sitting position. It is important that the legs are not below pelvic level – ideally, they should be in a slightly elevated position. This posture aids the return flow of blood and lymph towards the heart, allowing the compression treatment to more effectively support circulation and regeneration. In this position, the device does not have to work against gravity, which contributes to the faster removal of metabolic by-products.

Use after exercise:

Boots can be used most effectively after exercise when your heart rate has returned to its resting range. This usually occurs 10–30 minutes after finishing exercise, depending on its intensity.

A 30–60 minute treatment at medium or high intensity can support blood circulation, help remove lactic acid and other metabolic by-products, and contribute to reducing muscle soreness and fatigue.

Use before exercise:

Before exercise, the application of compression boots can promote blood supply to the legs and improve range of motion. It can be especially useful for those who spend most of their day sitting.

For pre-exercise use, 15–30 minutes at low or medium intensity is recommended, which can help prepare the muscles for exertion.

Supporting regeneration independently of exercise:

The boots are not only for use after exercise. Regular use can help reduce fluid accumulation in the legs, alleviate muscle tension and the uncomfortable heavy leg sensation, and support lymphatic circulation.

In this case, a 30–60 minute treatment is recommended, at medium or high intensity, taking into account individual comfort.

How should I use them for edema, lymphedema, or lymphoedema?

In the first two weeks, start with lower pressure and shorter duration to allow tissues and blood circulation to “get used to” the compression.

As you progress, if tolerated well, gradually increase the pressure and treatment time.

How long should a treatment last?

The duration of each treatment typically ranges from 20–60 minutes, depending on the chosen program and desired effect.

Even 15–20 minutes at medium intensity can noticeably improve circulation and reduce muscle tension, so shorter treatments can also be effective, especially when used before exercise.

What should I pay attention to before first use?

Before using the device for the first time, it is highly recommended to read the user manual. It contains detailed information on how to start the device, proper settings, and the correct application of lymphatic drainage.

Can it be used while sleeping?

The use of compression boots is not recommended while sleeping.

However, during daytime rest, they can be safely used in a lying or sitting position, provided the legs are slightly elevated.

How does it work?

The operation of compression boots supports the body's regeneration processes in several ways:

  • they improve blood circulation in the lower limbs
  • they promote the removal of metabolic by-products (e.g., lactic acid)
  • they can reduce swelling and muscle tension
  • they can contribute to muscle regeneration and faster recovery
  • they support lymphatic circulation

Can it come into direct contact with the skin?

Yes, the boots can be used directly on the skin. The inner material has a skin-friendly, non-porous design, which helps reduce bacterial buildup and the development of unpleasant odors. However, if multiple people are using them, it is advisable to wear socks and comfortable leisure trousers for hygiene reasons.

Can it be used by more than one person at a time?

No. Compression boots are designed for use by only one person at a time.

Can compression boots be used daily?

Yes, regular, even daily use of compression boots is permitted. It can be particularly beneficial for athletes and those who frequently experience leg fatigue or edema-like symptoms. The frequency of use should always be adjusted to individual comfort and exertion levels.

Are the boots suitable for other areas of the body?

No. Compression boots are specifically designed for the lower limbs and are only suitable for treating the legs. Use on other body parts is not recommended, as the design and pressure distribution of the device are not appropriate for this.

Maintenance

How to clean and care for compression boots?

The device is not waterproof, so neither the boots nor the control unit should be submerged in water or cleaned under running water. Avoid any liquids or cleaning agents that could cause corrosion, as these can damage the exterior surface and functionality of the device.

Proper care significantly contributes to the longevity of the boots. The boots are made of non-porous, medical-grade material that provides a resistant surface and helps reduce the chance of bacteria settling. The internal, overlapping chambers have a smooth design, making them easy to clean, with no need to wipe hard-to-reach areas. This also minimizes the development of unpleasant odors.

What are the cleaning steps?

  1. Completely unzip the boots, then lay them flat on a surface.
  2. To clean the inner surface, use a disinfectant wipe, a slightly damp cloth (with water up to 40 °C), or a gentle cleaning spray.
  3. Avoid using oily, alcoholic, gasoline-based, or other aggressive chemicals.
  4. The boots must not be machine washed.

After cleaning, ensure that the surfaces are completely dry. Drying can be done by air, by hanging, or by gentle wiping. Do not spin dry.

Do the pump and control unit also need to be cleaned?

It is recommended to periodically wipe the outer casing of the pump to remove surface dirt. Due to the air vents, avoid using sprays and overly damp wipes on the back of the pump.

Ensure that no liquid gets inside the control unit. The controller should be cleaned approximately every three months, and the connectors and hoses should be checked regularly.

How to store the device?

Compression boots should be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place. For longer storage, it is advisable to place the device in its original packaging.

Avoid:

  • too low temperatures and humid environments
  • direct sunlight
  • proximity to heaters, stoves, gas appliances
  • storage near sharp objects (scissors, needles, knives)
  • placing heavy objects on the boots

Adhering to these guidelines helps prevent material damage and premature device failure.
