User manual for Red Light MAX panels (MAX 60 and MAX 180)
Before you begin
- Check the package. MAX 60 box: panel, power cord, protective goggles, stand. MAX 180 box: panel, power cord, protective goggles, remote control, mounting hardware, pulley system, door hanging kit.
- Choose a location. The panel is for indoor, dry use only: do not place it in a bathroom, near water, or outdoors. The cooling fans are on the back, leave space around them.
- Secure it firmly.
- MAX 60: desktop panel, set it up using the included stand.
- MAX 180: you can mount it to the wall with the mounting hardware, hang it on a door with the kit, suspend it with the pulley system, or place it on the separately sold MAX180 Stand. Place the stand on a flat, stable floor and ensure the panel does not wobble before switching it on.
- Prepare your skin. It must be clean and dry, without creams or oils.
- Check the power supply: the panel operates on 110–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz.
Step by step
- Plug the power cord into the connector on the back of the panel and the other end into the wall outlet.
- Switch on the main power button on the back of the panel.
- Select the light: the RED button turns the red light on/off, the NIR button turns the near-infrared light on/off. You can use both simultaneously.
- Set the time.
- MAX 180: using the TIME+ and TIME− buttons, between 1–30 minutes. The remote control has the same functions.
- MAX 60: no built-in timer, so track the time with a phone timer or a clock.
- Put on the protective goggles.
- Turn the body area you wish to treat toward the panel (e.g., back, thigh, shoulder) and set the distance (see below).
- After use, switch off the panel, unplug it from the outlet, and let it cool down.
Settings and tips
- Distance: the panel can be used from 3–60 cm; 15–30 cm is standard for general use. Closer is more intense, further away covers a larger area.
- Upper limit: do not exceed 30 minutes on one body area per session. As a beginner, stick to shorter durations.
- Never fall asleep in front of the switched-on panel.
- Eyes: do not look directly into the light source for long periods, and do not look into the switched-on panel with optical aids (magnifying glass, mirror). If your panel also emits blue light, wearing goggles is mandatory.
- Advanced control: if your panel's display has a Dimmer or Pulse menu, adjust the brightness using the slider or the + and − buttons, and select the pulse frequency from the menu. Save your settings using the "Add as Default Mode" button.
- Remote control: operates with a 23A 12V battery.
Cleaning, charging, and storage
- No charging needed, the panel runs on mains power. If the remote doesn't respond, replace the 23A 12V battery. Do not dispose of dead batteries in household waste; take them to a battery collection point.
- Before cleaning, switch off, unplug, and let the panel cool down.
- Dust accumulated behind the LEDs should be wiped off once a week with a dry cloth or duster.
- Do not polish the metal parts with abrasive cleaners or polishers; use only a dry cloth.
- Do not allow liquid to enter the connectors or ventilation openings.
- Storage: in a dry, clean, cool place, protected from direct sunlight, between –20 °C and +40 °C. Do not expose to high temperatures or humidity for extended periods. When not in use, unplug from the outlet.
When not to use
Do not use, or only after consulting a doctor if:
- there is a cancerous lesion on the area to be treated,
- you are taking medication that causes photosensitivity,
- you have photosensitive epilepsy,
- you have hyperthyroidism (around the neck area),
- you have an eye disease (exercise extreme caution),
- there is an infection, open wound, or inflammation on the area to be treated,
- you have a pacemaker, implant, or other implanted medical device,
- you are pregnant or breastfeeding (do not use on the abdomen or lower back area during pregnancy).
Do not use on children under 3 years old. Children may only use it under adult supervision. For dark skin tones, use with caution and for shorter durations; avoid prolonged exposure on tattooed areas, as the pigment may heat up.
