CUPPER cupping therapy user manual

Before you begin

  • When unpacking, check that the device and the cups are intact. Do not use a transparent container if it is dented or cracked.
  • Charge the device before first use.
  • The package contains 3+1 cups: a large, small, and sliding cup, as well as a curved head. It also includes 3 replaceable cotton filters and a remote control.
  • When changing cups, screw the new head on tightly. If it is loose, air will leak, and the suction will be weak.
  • Clean your skin beforehand and moisturize it lightly with a damp cloth or spray. It will not work through clothing.

Step-by-step

  1. Switching on. Hold the on/off/mode button for 1.5 seconds. The 20-minute countdown will start on the display, and the temperature indicator will light up. After 20 minutes, the device will shut off automatically.
  2. Mode. At startup, intensive mode is active (the display shows "-"), and suction and heating turn on automatically. Pressing the on/off/mode button briefly switches to the gentler breathing mode (the display shows "+").
  3. Suction power. The default setting is level 3 out of 12. For your first time or on sensitive skin, switch back to level 1. Each short press of the suction power button on the device increases the level by one; after the highest level, it switches to 0 (suction off). You can adjust using the Suction+ and Suction− buttons on the remote.
  4. Application. Place the cup evenly on the skin with its entire rim. Do not place on wounds or scars.
  5. Heating. The temperature also starts at level 3, with 12 levels available. A short press of the temperature button increases it. From level 9 onwards, the indicator light will change color and flash—the higher the heat, the faster it flashes. After the highest level, the next press turns off the heating (0). Use TEMP+ and TEMP− on the remote.
  6. Pause, removal. If the pull is too strong or you want to remove the cup, press the pressure release button. Suction stops immediately, and the cup releases. You can continue by pressing it again.
  7. Switching off. Hold the on/off/mode button for 1.5 seconds.

Settings and tips

Cup Purpose How to use
Large cup larger, even surfaces, e.g., back, thigh stationary
Small cup smaller, narrower areas stationary
Sliding cup working along longer muscle segments with a little oil, moving slowly
Curved head curved body parts, e.g., next to the knee, inner thigh, calf stationary
  • Adjust step by step, only one level at a time. The goal is a firm but pleasant pull.
  • Do not leave the cup in one spot for more than 5 minutes. Keeping it on the same spot for a long time can burn or overstretch the skin even at low heat.
  • Use a thin, even layer of oil or cream. Do not let liquid pool on the skin, as the device will suck it up.
  • Round, red, or purplish marks may remain. This is normal and will fade on their own.
  • Wait 45 minutes after use before bathing.
  • If you are using the remote, do not take it too far from the device. It beeps with every button press so you know the command was received.
  • Do not look directly into the cup's light.

Cleaning, charging, and storage

Charging

  • Charge with a USB-C cable using a 5 V / 2 A adapter. The port must be dry and clean.
  • The white indicator light flashes during charging and turns off when fully charged. Do not charge for longer than 8 hours.
  • The device cannot be used while charging. Do not plug in or unplug the cable with wet hands.

Replacing the filter

  • The cotton filter protects the device from dirt and liquid droplets. Check it periodically and replace it if it is soiled.
  • Unscrew the head, then the transparent container. Replace the cotton filter and screw both back on.

Cleaning and storage

  • After every use, turn it off and wipe it down with a slightly damp cloth, then a dry, non-woven cloth. Do not submerge in water.
  • Do not use acidic or alkaline cleaners, alcohol, thinner, gasoline, hard brushes, or steel wool. Do not store it while damp.
  • If multiple people use the device, clean the head before every use.
  • Store in a dry place away from sunlight, humidity, impact, strong electromagnetic fields, and children. If not in use for a long time, charge it periodically.

When not to use

Do not use, and consult your doctor first if:

  • you have a pacemaker, other implanted electronic device, or medical implant,
  • you are pregnant, menstruating, or have varicose veins in the area,
  • the skin is damaged, wounded, inflamed, has a rash or infection, or is overly sensitive,
  • you have an infectious disease, high fever, are post-surgery, or have a serious illness,
  • there is a tumor, ulcer, or fresh fracture in the area,
  • you have heart, nervous system, or blood pressure problems,
  • you are prone to bleeding, have a blood clotting disorder, or are taking anticoagulants,
  • you have seizures or suffer from severe anxiety,
  • you cannot feel pressure and heat properly on your skin,
  • you are under medical treatment or feeling unwell,
  • your skin is sensitive to metal or red light.

Do not use after excessive fatigue, alcohol consumption, or after staying up all night, and within 2 hours before or after eating. Never place the cup near the heart, face, head, throat, genitals, or large blood vessels. Do not use while driving. Stop immediately if you feel unwell, experience pain, or feel a burning sensation.

Troubleshooting

What you see What to do
Does not turn on Hold the button for at least 1.5 seconds. If it still doesn't start, charge it.
Does not charge Try another outlet, plug the cable in again, and clean the port. Replace the adapter or cable if necessary.
Suction is weak Remove the head and screw it back on tightly. Check if the air vent is clogged and if the filter needs replacing.
Not warm enough Check if the temperature indicator is lit. In a cold room, increase by one level. If the battery is low, charge it.
Does not respond to remote Move closer and point toward the device. If it has been off for more than 5 minutes, start it on the device. If the remote batteries are weak, replace them.

If the problem persists, do not disassemble the device. Write to us at info@movtech.hu.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is cupping therapy, and how does it work?

Cupping is a thousands-of-years-old technique: a vacuum is created in a cup placed on the skin, which pulls the skin and the underlying soft tissue upwards. This is the opposite of what a massage does, where pressure is applied to the tissue.

The CUPPER cupping device is an electric cupping tool that complements the vacuum with heat and red light therapy.

Cupping is a wellness technique, not a medical treatment, and it does not replace professional medical care.

What is it used for, and on which parts of the body?

It is used for mobilizing tight, tired muscles and supporting relaxation after exercise, typically in the following areas:

  • back, shoulders, back of the neck
  • larger muscle groups of the arms and legs
  • connective tissue areas of the hips and thighs

Do not use on the face, head, front of the throat, or around the genitals.

How do I use it at home, step by step?
  • charge the device and select the appropriate cup for the area
  • apply to clean, dry skin; a small amount of massage oil will help with gliding
  • start on the lowest setting and adjust upwards using the LCD display or the remote control
  • do not leave on one spot for more than 5 minutes; when using a gliding technique, move slowly

It can be used at home on yourself on easily accessible areas. Ask for help with the middle part of your back, as it is difficult to reach that area at the right angle.

How long should a treatment last, and how often should I repeat it?

A treatment typically lasts 5–15 minutes, depending on the size of the area and the intensity level set. A shorter time is suitable for smaller areas, while a longer time is appropriate for larger muscle groups.

Do not treat the same area daily: allow 2–3 days of rest so that the marks can fade. 1–2 times a week is sufficient for most routines.

For the first session, it is recommended to start with a shorter duration and lower intensity.

How should I adjust the intensity, especially as a beginner?

Always start with the lowest setting and gradually increase it until you feel a firm pull, but no pain.

  • if you experience sharp pain or a stinging sensation, release the vacuum immediately
  • thinner skin areas (inner arms, abdomen) require lower intensity
  • cup size also matters: a smaller cup will feel stronger at the same setting

The goal is a pleasant, tolerable pull, not the strongest possible vacuum.

Will it leave any marks? Is it painful?

Yes, round, red or purplish marks may remain on the treated area. The vacuum causes the capillaries under the skin to open, which is why the skin becomes discolored.

These marks:

  • usually fade gradually within 1–2 weeks
  • are not actual bruises and are not accompanied by muscle injury

The treatment itself is not painful; it is more of a pulling, stretching sensation. If it hurts, reduce the intensity or remove the cup.

When is it NOT recommended for use?

Consult a healthcare professional before use if any of the following apply to you:

  • open wound, blister, rash, inflamed or infected skin, bruise, tumor in the area to be treated
  • skin condition, such as eczema or psoriasis
  • recent bone fracture, osteomyelitis, severe spinal deformity
  • varicose veins, thrombosis, arterial insufficiency or other circulatory disease, history of embolism
  • uncontrolled high blood pressure, severe heart, liver or kidney disease
  • blood clotting disorder or use of anticoagulants
  • reduced sensation, peripheral neuropathy
  • pacemaker or implanted defibrillator
  • recent surgical site
  • pregnancy

Do not use in case of unexplained pain, and do not use on the face, head, throat, neck, or genital area.

Can I use it through clothing, around training, or in combination with other equipment?

It does not work through clothing: for the vacuum to hold, the cup must be applied directly to bare skin.

It can be used both before and after training. Before training, use a shorter, lighter treatment to warm up; after training, a longer one for relaxation.

It complements other tools well (massage gun, fascia blade, red light), but do not treat the same area with multiple intense tools in a row. Allow for a rest period between them.

What does the CUPPER cupping device do?
  • suction power: 0–60 kPa
  • control: LCD display and remote control
  • battery: 1800 mAh, 5 W rated power
  • size: 78 × 94 mm
  • accessories: 3+1 replaceable cups, curved head
  • warranty: 1 year
How should I clean and store it?

After use, wipe the rim and the inside of the cups with a slightly damp cloth or disinfectant wipe, then let them air dry. Do not immerse the main unit in water, and always switch it off before cleaning.

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from direct sunlight. Before long-term storage, partially charge the battery and recharge it every few months.

If you experience any issues during use, stop the treatment. If redness, pain, or swelling does not subside within a few days, consult a physician.
