Cryoflex cold and hot compress instructions for use
Before you begin
- Choose the right size. The wrap comes in four sizes (S, M, L, XL). Measure the circumference of your limb where you intend to wear it and check the size chart on the product page. If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one.
- Decide whether to use it cold or warm. The same wrap is suitable for both; only the preparation differs.
- Check the wrap. If it is punctured, torn, or the gel is leaking, do not use it.
- Plan ahead for cold use. It needs at least half an hour in the freezer, but 1–2 hours is ideal.
Step by step
Cold use
- Place the wrap in a sealable storage bag.
- Place it in the freezer for at least 30 minutes, ideally 1–2 hours (maximum –18 °C). The gel remains flexible even when frozen, making it easy to pull on.
- Take it out and wait a few minutes before putting it on. If it is too cold, place a thin fabric underneath.
- Pull it onto the chosen body part (e.g., knee, ankle, elbow, forearm, calf) and adjust it so it lies evenly across the entire surface.
- Once the time is up, take it off and let your skin warm back up.
Warm use
- Remove the wrap from the storage bag. It should be at room temperature; do not take it directly from the freezer.
- Heat it in a microwave at medium-high power for 30 seconds.
- Check the temperature on the inside of your wrist. It should be warm, not hot.
- If it is not warm enough, continue heating in 10-second intervals, checking it after every step.
- If it has become too hot, let it cool for a few minutes before putting it on.
- Pull it onto the desired body part and smooth it out.
In both cases: each session should be short, and do not wear it for more than 20 minutes at a time. The gel retains cold or heat for roughly this long.
Adjustments and tips
- Putting it on: The wrap is a single piece, without buckles or Velcro. Simply pull it onto your limb and adjust it into place.
- Do not make it too tight. It should fit snugly but comfortably. If you feel numbness, tingling, or notice discoloration, remove it.
- It can remain on while moving, but do not wear it while sleeping.
- Which one when? Many people prefer the short, cold version after exercise, and the warm version for relaxation in the morning or during the day. Choose what feels best for you.
- Always ready: The wrap can be stored in the freezer in a sealed bag for a long time, so you can take it out cold whenever needed.
- Only heat in a microwave. Stoves, ovens, hot water, or radiators are not suitable and may damage the gel.
Cleaning, filling, and storage
- Do not wash, do not soak in water. The gel pads cannot withstand full immersion; washing may cause leaks.
- Cleaning: wipe it down with a slightly damp, clean cloth or sponge. A little soapy water or mild detergent can be used, but do not let liquid get into the gel.
- Drying: let it air dry away from sunlight and heat sources. Only put it back in the bag when completely dry.
- Storage: in a sealed storage bag, in a dry, cool place or in the freezer, away from sharp objects.
- Filling: not necessary, the wrap contains no electrical parts.
When not to use
Do not use:
- on open wounds, damaged, inflamed, or sensitive skin
- on fresh surgical scars or burned skin
- if there is a rash or eczema on the area to be treated
- on body parts where you have reduced sensitivity to heat or pain
- on sleeping or incapacitated individuals; use on children only under adult supervision
Consult your doctor beforehand if you are pregnant, have diabetes, circulatory disease, varicose veins, thrombosis, or blood clotting disorders, are taking blood thinners, or if your skin is sensitive to cold (for cold use).
Stop using it if blisters, persistent redness, or other unusual skin reactions occur. Using it for too long at a time can cause frostbite.
The wrap is a wellness device and does not replace medical care.
Troubleshooting
- Not warm enough: heat further in 10-second intervals and always check the temperature.
- Too hot: let it cool for a few minutes. Do not put it on until it feels only warm.
- Too cold for the skin: wait a few minutes after taking it out of the freezer or place a thin fabric underneath.
- Leaking or punctured: do not continue to use it.
- Slips or too tight: the size is likely incorrect. Check the size chart again.
