Solid foundation for applying the two technologies

The aim of the workshop is for participants to learn about the operation of shockwave and ultrasound technology in a single day, and to practice setting up and applying the devices themselves under instructor supervision.

The training is practice-oriented: after a brief, concise summary of the theoretical background, the majority of the day will be spent working with the devices. All participants will also receive the detailed theoretical material in PDF format.

  • physical and physiological principles of the two technologies
  • meaning and selection of parameters
  • correct use of the applicator heads and the conductive gel
  • application techniques by body area
  • contraindications and safe use
  • confident, independent operation of the device

Who is the workshop for?

We recommend it if

  • you work as a massage therapist, trainer, physiotherapist, or other movement and recovery professional
  • you would like to expand your services with shockwave or ultrasound technology
  • you do not yet own either device
  • you would like to gain personal, practical experience before purchasing a device

Condition of participation

  • The workshop is exclusively for those who do not yet own shockwave or ultrasound technology devices.
  • Prior experience with these devices is not required.

If you already own a device, we unfortunately cannot provide a spot for this workshop.

The two technologies you will be working with

Half of the day is about ultrasound, the other half is about shockwave therapy. You will handle both on the same day, in the same place.

Shock wave

Shock wave

An electromagnetic pulse accelerates a projectile, and the resulting pressure wave propagates radially from the applicator into the soft tissues.

  • 5-250 mJ
  • 1-16 Hz
  • 7 + 7 applicators
Ultrasound

Ultrasound

The ultrasound head delivers high-frequency vibration into the deeper layers. The effect is finer and more uniform, and the head manipulation technique differs from that of shockwave therapy.

  • 1-12 MHz
  • 30 W
  • Continuous and pulsed

STUDY MATERIAL

Detailed theoretical material in PDF format

The theoretical part of the curriculum is available in writing, in a format that can be reviewed even after the training.

SPECIAL MACHINE OFFER

For participants only

Workshop participants can purchase the showcased devices at a special offer after the training.

EXAM AND DIPLOMA

Online exam, diploma

Following the practical day, there is a short online exam. Upon successful completion of the exam, a certificate of successful course completion will be awarded.

Training curriculum

Five modules that we will cover during the day. The theoretical part is brief; the focus is on practice.

1

Theoretical foundations

  • physical characteristics of sound and ultrasound
  • shockwave as acoustic, mechanical energy
  • radial shockwave: propagation and penetration depth
  • absorption of energy in tissues
  • mechanical and thermal effects
  • comparison of the two technologies with each other and with vibration devices
  • overview of physiological processes supporting regeneration
  • different reactions of tissue types (muscle, fascia, tendon, ligament)
2

Ultrasound technology in practice

  • device structure and control interface
  • pulsed and continuous mode: when to use which
  • selecting settings and intensity levels
  • the role and proper use of coupling gel
  • holding and moving the ultrasound head, contact monitoring
  • dividing the area, application time
  • monitoring heat sensation, client feedback
  • practical training by body area, in pairs
3

Shockwave technology in practice

  • device structure and control interface
  • setting energy, frequency, and pulse rate
  • interchangeable heads: metal and rubber heads, when to use which
  • head replacement, silicone cap, hygiene
  • positioning and the correct angle of the head
  • pinpoint and area application
  • adjusting settings to the client's sensitivity
  • practice by body area: sole, calf, knee, hip, back, shoulder, elbow
4

Safety and exclusionary factors

  • areas of application and limitations
  • exclusion criteria for the two technologies, by body area
  • who cannot participate in the session
  • warning signs during the session
  • safe operation, cleaning, and maintenance of the devices
5

Structuring and documenting the session

  • preliminary assessment and informing the client
  • written declaration, client information form
  • procedure of the session from preparation to completion
  • sequence of the two technologies within one session
  • recording parameters and client feedback
  • planning the frequency and number of sessions

The instructor

Domonkos Varga

movement therapist

Domonkos Varga

Domonkos Varga is an experienced movement therapist and sports therapist with over 10 years of professional experience in rehabilitation and functional movement development.

He earned his degree in health promotion and recreation management at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences of Semmelweis University: a bachelor's degree in 2011 and a master's degree in 2013. In 2011, he began working at the Ferenc Jahn Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation Center, where he has been involved in movement and sports therapy ever since.

His daily work includes the treatment of spinal problems, recovery after sports and other accidents, post-surgical rehabilitation, as well as joint stabilization and pain relief. He has also been working in private practice since 2013, where he combines elements of physiotherapy and conditioning training in his sessions.

During the workshop, he will provide the theoretical summary and the presentation of the devices, and in the practical blocks, he will personally supervise and correct the participants' work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I participate if I already own a device?

No. The workshop is specifically intended for professionals who do not yet own shockwave or ultrasound technology devices.

Is prior machine experience necessary?

No. The training starts with the theoretical foundations, and the practical blocks proceed step by step under instructor supervision.

On which devices is the practice taking place?

The practical sessions will be conducted using ultrasound and shockwave therapy devices provided on-site; there is no need to bring your own equipment.

How does the exam work, and what kind of certificate will I receive?

After the practical day, a short online exam must be completed. Upon passing the exam, we will issue a certificate for the successful completion of the shockwave and ultrasound technology training. The certificate is not a state-recognized qualification and does not authorize the holder to fill a specific job position.

Where will the training be held?

In Budapest, in the 9th district, 5 minutes from Lurdy Ház. The exact address will be sent to applicants via email.

What should I bring with me?

Comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the shoulders, back, and lower limbs, as the practice is performed in pairs, on each other.

How do I pay?

Just like with any order in the store: you reserve your spot by registering and paying. We will send the invoice via email.

What happens if I cannot come after all?

Please let us know, and you may transfer your spot to a colleague, or we can move it to the next session.

Will photos and videos be taken at the workshop?

The participant acknowledges and consents to the Organizer or persons authorized by them taking photographs, as well as video and audio recordings, of the participant and the venue during the workshop. The participant accepts that they may appear in these recordings and consents to the Organizer publishing and using them indefinitely on their website, social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, YouTube), in their publications, and in promotional and press materials.

There are 12 spots, and only one group can fit at a time.

The small group is important because everyone gets a turn with the equipment. If it fills up, you will be moved to the next session.

Two training sessions on one day

The practical training for ultrasound and shockwave therapy would cost this much separately as well. In November, we are holding them together and waiving the fee for one of them.
