How to clean and care for compression boots?

The device is not waterproof, so neither the boots nor the control unit should be submerged in water or cleaned under running water. Avoid any liquids or cleaning agents that could cause corrosion, as these can damage the exterior surface and functionality of the device.

Proper care significantly contributes to the longevity of the boots. The boots are made of non-porous, medical-grade material that provides a resistant surface and helps reduce the chance of bacteria settling. The internal, overlapping chambers have a smooth design, making them easy to clean, with no need to wipe hard-to-reach areas. This also minimizes the development of unpleasant odors.

What are the cleaning steps?

  1. Completely unzip the boots, then lay them flat on a surface.
  2. To clean the inner surface, use a disinfectant wipe, a slightly damp cloth (with water up to 40 °C), or a gentle cleaning spray.
  3. Avoid using oily, alcoholic, gasoline-based, or other aggressive chemicals.
  4. The boots must not be machine washed.

After cleaning, ensure that the surfaces are completely dry. Drying can be done by air, by hanging, or by gentle wiping. Do not spin dry.

Do the pump and control unit also need to be cleaned?

It is recommended to periodically wipe the outer casing of the pump to remove surface dirt. Due to the air vents, avoid using sprays and overly damp wipes on the back of the pump.

Ensure that no liquid gets inside the control unit. The controller should be cleaned approximately every three months, and the connectors and hoses should be checked regularly.

How to store the device?

Compression boots should be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place. For longer storage, it is advisable to place the device in its original packaging.

Avoid:

  • too low temperatures and humid environments
  • direct sunlight
  • proximity to heaters, stoves, gas appliances
  • storage near sharp objects (scissors, needles, knives)
  • placing heavy objects on the boots

Adhering to these guidelines helps prevent material damage and premature device failure.
